Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using CertifyLink to create, send, or verify certificates.

Last updated: December 13, 2025

1. About the Service

CertifyLink is a hosted platform for creating, managing, and verifying digital certificates. You can design certificates, manage organizations and events, upload branding assets, add recipient lists, generate downloadable files and QR codes, and share verification pages.

These Terms govern your use of CertifyLink. If you do not agree, please do not access the platform.

2. Accounts & Eligibility

You must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and be at least 16 years old (or the age required in your region). If you create an account on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to do so.

You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may send service-related notices (like verification emails, security alerts, or plan notices) to the email tied to your account.

3. Content & Data You Provide

You keep ownership of certificate designs, logos, recipient lists, organization details, event details, and uploaded assets. You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, process, copy, and display that material as needed to run the Service (including generating certificates, previews, emails, downloads, and verification pages).

Only upload content and data you have rights to share. Do not upload highly sensitive information (such as government IDs, health data, or payment card numbers) because the platform is not designed for that.

4. Recipient Data & Verification

You are responsible for obtaining any permissions needed to store and display recipient information. Certificate verification pages are viewable by anyone with the verification link or QR code and may show recipient fields, event details, and organization names. Removing a certificate or event may disable verification for associated recipients.

If you share verification links or QR codes publicly, you are responsible for any information they reveal.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited uses include:

  • Creating fraudulent, misleading, or infringing certificates
  • Uploading malware or attempting to disrupt or probe our systems
  • Bypassing plan limits, rate limits, or access controls
  • Sending spam or harassing others using the platform
  • Posting content that is illegal or violates others' rights
  • Using the Service for high-risk or regulated data we do not support

We may investigate and suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. Plans, Billing & Limits

Some features have usage limits tied to your plan (for example, limits on certificates or events for free tiers). We may adjust limits or plan features over time.

Paid plans are billed through our payment provider (Polar). We do not store your full payment card details. Failure to pay fees when due may lead to suspension or downgrade.

Taxes and any carrier fees are your responsibility.

7. Intellectual Property

The CertifyLink platform, trademarks, and underlying code are owned by us and our licensors. Using the Service does not give you ownership of our intellectual property or brand assets.

You may use the Service interface and outputs for their intended purpose but may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the platform.

8. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted providers to deliver the Service, including hosting and analytics (Vercel), file storage (Cloudflare R2), transactional email (Resend), authentication (Better Auth and Google sign-in), and billing (Polar). Their terms and privacy practices apply when they process your data.

9. Termination

You may stop using CertifyLink at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or fail to pay applicable fees.

Upon termination, access to your certificates, events, and verification pages may cease, and data may be deleted consistent with our retention practices and legal requirements.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor that certificates or verification pages will always be available.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CertifyLink will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or security needs. If changes are material, we will provide notice (for example, in-app or by email). Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
